Sony is automatically adding five extra days to PlayStation Plus subscribers’ accounts after a major PlayStation Network (PSN) outage that disrupted services over the weekend. The announcement came via the official Ask PlayStation support account on X.
“Network services have fully recovered from an operational issue,” Sony wrote. “We apologize for the inconvenience and thank the community for their patience.”
The Outage’s Impact
The issues began around 6PM ET on Friday, with users experiencing difficulties logging into accounts, accessing the PlayStation Store, and launching certain games. Sony restored service just before 7PM ET on Saturday.

Some games remained accessible during the outage. Verge journalist Jay Peters noted that while he couldn’t log into Fortnite or see his trophies, he was still able to launch his digital copy of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth without issues.
