Justin Bieber Raps About Flying ‘High’ After Rep Denies Drug Use Allegations

Share

Justin Bieber is making headlines again, this time for a shirtless rap video in which he boasts about flying “high like a magpie.” The clip comes just days after his representative dismissed rumors of drug use, calling them “salacious” and “pitiful.”

Bieber’s Rap Video Sparks Buzz

On February 25, the 30-year-old pop star shared an Instagram video of himself rapping alongside a friend. Dressed in just a blue beanie and pants, Bieber held a bag of snacks while delivering lines over a beat:

“High like a fly guy / I fly high like a magpie / I go high like a bad guy.”

His friend, seen dancing in the background, added to the lyrics, saying, “’Cause I’m that guy.”

The post quickly drew attention, with some fans praising Bieber’s freestyle and others questioning whether the lyrics were a response to the recent speculation about his health and lifestyle.

Rep Slams “Harmful” Allegations

Bieber’s video comes just two days after his team shut down drug rumors in a statement first reported by TMZ on February 23.

A representative for Bieber and his wife, Hailey Baldwin Bieber, 28, addressed the speculation, stating that the singer is focused on his health, art, and family—especially his 6-month-old son, Jack Blues.

“The past year has been very transformative for Justin,” the statement read. “He ended several close friendships and business relationships that no longer served him. The false rumors about him are exhausting and pitiful.”

The rep also criticized those spreading negative narratives, adding:

“Despite the obvious truth, people are committed to keeping salacious, harmful narratives alive.”

Bieber’s History with Substance Use

The controversy began earlier this month after photos surfaced of Bieber looking tired, with dark circles under his eyes. Some speculated that he had relapsed, but sources told TMZ that Bieber had simply been staying up late for recording sessions and caring for his baby son, who was struggling to sleep.

Bieber has previously spoken candidly about his past struggles with substance abuse. In a 2021 interview with GQ, he revealed that his drug use had once reached a dangerous level, to the point where his security team would check his pulse at night to ensure he was still alive.

“I had all this success, but I was still sad, still in pain, and still had unresolved issues,” he admitted.

“The drugs were a numbing agent to get through.”

While Bieber has since worked hard to maintain his sobriety and mental health, rumors about his well-being continue to follow him.

A Response or Just a Rap?

It remains unclear whether Bieber’s “high like a magpie” rap was meant to be a direct response to the drug rumors or simply a freestyle for fun. Regardless, the post has once again placed him in the spotlight of public scrutiny.

As fans debate the meaning behind his latest video, Bieber appears focused on his family, music, and personal growth.
