Samsung Empowers Educators with Cutting-Edge Technology and Professional Development at ISTELive 2025

Share

At the 2025 ISTE Live conference, Samsung Electronics America is showcasing interactive displays, digital signage, and training programs to boost engagement and efficiency in K–12 schools. From June 29 to July 2, visitors to Samsung’s booth (#2436) can explore the new Interactive Display WAF series, Color E-Paper signage, and the updated VXT Content Management Solution. Additionally, coach-led workshops will empower educators to drive innovation in their schools.

Next-Generation Interactive Displays Elevate Classroom Learning
Samsung’s WAF Interactive Display, offered in 65-, 75-, and 86-inch sizes, is the second generation of Google-Enterprise certified Android displays for classrooms. Building on the WAD series’ success, the WAF operates on Android 14, pre-loaded with essential Google Apps, and provides access to thousands more through the Google Play Store. Key improvements streamline teacher workflows and enhance student collaboration:

Always-Visible Annotation Button
A front-panel “Annotation” button lets teachers and students quickly add notes, text, shapes, or drawings over any screen content, like videos, slides, or web pages. This feature prevents disruptions from app switching and ensures seamless lessons.

Multi-User Whiteboarding
The new Note app allows four users to work together on a digital whiteboard with split-screen zones. Each zone can be used for personal tasks or group activities like brainstorming and peer reviews.

Front-Facing Quick Access Controls
Physical buttons below the display offer educators quick access to volume, input switching, screen capture, and annotation tools, reducing menu navigation time and increasing teaching time.

Remote Device Management
Samsung’s device management lets IT admins remotely update firmware, install apps, secure settings, and check device health for all displays, ensuring performance and security without needing on-site visits.

Sara Grofcsik, Samsung Electronics America’s Head of Sales, highlighted the WAF’s importance in meeting diverse educational needs. She stated that educators require adaptable tools for different teaching methods and student preferences. WAF displays enable teachers to create engaging and dynamic lessons for all students.

Color E-Paper: Energy-Efficient Digital Signage for K–12 Environments
Samsung’s Color E-Paper enhances its sustainable digital signage for K–12 schools and campuses. Using low-power digital ink, these wall-mounted displays provide eco-friendly solutions:

  • Ultra-Low Power Consumption
After rendering, the screen uses almost no power to keep the image, allowing it to run on one battery charge for weeks or months.
  • High Visibility in Any Lighting
Reflective displays provide clear reading in bright hallways, sunny cafeterias, and dark corridors, avoiding the glare and eye strain of backlit LCD screens.
  • Lightweight, Wire-Free Installation
Color E-Paper units, powered by batteries and wireless, can be installed anywhere, like front offices or gyms, without expensive electrical work or conduit installations.

Schools use digital displays for daily menus, student achievements, emergency alerts, and event navigation. These displays cut electricity and maintenance costs, allowing schools to redirect funds to educational resources.

VXT CMS: Smarter, Centralised Content and Screen Management
Samsung’s VXT cloud-native Content Management Solution revolutionizes signage management in educational environments. It offers enterprise-level features, ensuring efficient and effective communication:

  • Remote Orientation and Power Control
IT teams can easily rotate screens, set on/off schedules to align with school hours, and automatically adjust brightness to save energy.
  • 200+ Customisable Templates
PIRS apps simplify making announcements, schedules, safety alerts, and event highlights. They enable teachers and staff to update content easily, without needing special training.
  • District-Wide Scalability
VXT’s user-friendly dashboard offers real-time monitoring, content engagement analytics, and bulk deployment tools for seamless communication across one or multiple campuses.

Integrating signage and display management into a single platform allows districts to cut IT costs, streamline content creation, and ensure timely communication, promoting a secure and informed educational setting.

Coach-Led Sessions Showcase Innovative Pedagogies
Complementing its hardware and software offerings, Samsung Education Coaches and subject-matter experts are leading a series of on-site professional learning sessions at ISTELive:
