Rolling Stones frontman Sir Mick Jagger and his partner Melanie Hamrick may not be rushing to the altar anytime soon, but the couple has actually been engaged for quite some time—nearly three years, according to Hamrick.
Quiet Engagement, No Wedding Plans Yet
Speaking to Paris Match, 37-year-old former ballerina Hamrick revealed that Jagger, 81, proposed “two or three years ago,” but the couple has yet to set a wedding date. Despite the long engagement, Hamrick admitted she’s hesitant to change anything about their current relationship dynamic.

“Maybe one day we’ll marry, maybe not,” she said. “We are so happy in our current life that I would be too afraid to change anything.”
From Subtle Beginnings to Lifelong Bond
The couple first met in 2014, though Hamrick noted their initial encounter wasn’t especially cinematic. “Maybe a spark, but nothing incredible,” she recalled. “We didn’t even exchange phone numbers. At the time, I wasn’t in a relationship, but he was.”
Their relationship later turned romantic, and they welcomed their son, Deveraux, in 2016. Now, Hamrick says the key to their relationship is simple: “We try to support each other, be there for each other, and make sure everyone is happy. That’s all that matters to me and all I strive for.”
That Ring? Yes, It’s the One
Hamrick has been wearing a sparkling diamond ring for years, but only recently confirmed it was indeed an engagement ring. In a 2023 interview with People, she said, “Did Mick give me the ring? Yes. Is it for that finger? Yes.” Still, she referred to it then as more of a “promise ring” than a formal engagement.
“Are we like, horny teenagers where we’re giving each other… In my mind, it’s a promise ring. We’ll be immature and call it a promise ring,” she joked.
Marriage? Maybe One Day
Hamrick continues to take a relaxed view of marriage, describing herself as a “live-in-the-moment” type. When asked if wedding bells were in the future, she answered, “I don’t know… so who knows.”
For now, the couple appears content with their low-key lifestyle and shared commitment, regardless of whether or not they ever walk down the aisle
