Benetti, the world-renowned Italian yacht builder, has entered a new chapter in its steel yacht journey. With the unveiling of two fresh projects—the B.Now 52M and the B.Loft 58M—alongside the confirmed sale of a second B.Now 72M equipped with the Oasis Deck®, the shipyard is reinforcing its reputation as one of the most innovative forces in the large custom yacht sector. These announcements mark more than just product launches. They represent a clear signal of how Benetti intends to shape the future of steel-hulled superyachts in both design philosophy and market positioning.
“The sale of a new 72-metre yacht and the presentation of two new models that enrich the B.Now and B.Loft families confirm our dynamism and ability to bring continuous evolution, new features and new trends to the large custom yacht market,” said Benetti Sales Director Daniela Petrozzi when presenting the new strategy.
B.Now 52M: Elevating a Proven Success
The B.Now 52M builds directly upon the achievements of the B.Now 50M, a model that sold 21 units in only a few years—an unmatched record in its size segment. Developed in collaboration with British design studio RWD for the exterior and Valentina Zannier for interiors, the new 52M is not just larger; it reimagines how space can flow seamlessly on a yacht of this scale.
The Oasis Deck®, now extended by 30% to cover 130 square metres, delivers a transformative onboard experience. With 15 metres from stern to lounge, this reconfigured aft area includes a redesigned pool with a retractable cover system. When closed, the pool morphs into a spacious water-level platform, adding flexibility for entertainment or relaxation.
Stepping inside, the main deck has undergone the most radical shift. Instead of corridors separating interior and exterior, Benetti has replaced the walls with floor-to-ceiling glazing, creating uninterrupted panoramic views. The dining area, now moved to the bow, is bathed in natural light, while a grand staircase at the centre of the space doubles as an architectural feature.
On the upper deck, Benetti eliminated the traditional external staircase leading to the terrace. This change frees up a new, fully private 110-square-metre owner’s retreat, divided between a master suite and an expansive terrace.
Charlie Baker, Director of RWD, explained: “Our vision for the B.Now 52M was to reprise the extraordinary features that made the B.Now 50M such a success and take them to the next level, creating a harmonious combination of openness, functionality and flexibility.”
Interior designer Valentina Zannier added: “A new concept must represent progress in terms of both aesthetics and functionality in equal measure, and the B.Now 52M perfectly embodies this balance. Essential in her clean architectural lines, elegant in her interior design language, and with fluid connections between the spaces.”
B.Loft 58M: Loft Living Meets the Sea
Benetti’s new B.Loft 58M, designed by Giorgio Cassetta’s studio, borrows its DNA from contemporary loft architecture and seafront villas. It aims to blur the boundary between land-based luxury living and life at sea.
The entry point is the Cabana, a shaded, convertible area located right at the waterline. Flanked by side wings that swing out, the Cabana evolves into a vast 120-square-metre beach platform stretching 15.5 metres wide. Combined with the reflections from the pool above, it creates an atmosphere that is at once relaxing and theatrical.
Inside, the panoramic Sky Lounge epitomises the loft-inspired approach. Spanning more than 70 square metres with a ceiling height of 3.5 metres, it creates a sense of vertical openness rarely seen on yachts of this length. Full-height glass walls on either side frame the horizon, while sliding doors connect directly to outdoor living areas.
“We wanted B.Loft to be a place where you feel wonderfully at ease wherever you are on board: a space that’s both familiar and surprising,” said Giorgio Cassetta. “We were inspired by the modern architecture of waterfront villas, particularly in Central America, with terraces on multiple levels that are always perfectly interconnected, where everyone feels part of the same environment.”
Redefining Market Positioning
The B.Now 52M and B.Loft 58M are not isolated experiments; they reflect Benetti’s broader strategy to lead in the steel yacht sector, where competition has grown fierce. Steel, with its durability and flexibility in hull design, remains the preferred material for yachts above 50 metres. By pushing spatial innovation and lifestyle-driven layouts, Benetti is responding to a market where owners want yachts to be both private sanctuaries and social hubs.
The 21 units sold of the B.Now 50M highlight the demand for yachts that balance timeless design with progressive features. Extending the family with the 52M while introducing the loft-inspired 58M diversifies Benetti’s portfolio, ensuring it appeals to clients who seek either classic grandeur or contemporary informality.
Oasis Deck®: The Expanding Legacy
Central to Benetti’s recent success is the Oasis Deck®, a patented aft-deck design that maximises openness to the sea. With folding side platforms and an infinity pool concept, the Oasis Deck has redefined the modern beach club. Its expansion in the B.Now 52M and its inclusion in the new B.Now 72M confirm that the Oasis philosophy will anchor Benetti’s design direction for years to come.
The second sale of the B.Now 72M with Oasis Deck underscores client confidence in this concept. At 72 metres, the yacht offers unprecedented space for relaxation, entertainment, and private retreat—all with the Oasis Deck as its centrepiece.
Industry Response and Competitive Landscape
Benetti’s announcements arrive in a climate of increased competition among European shipyards. Feadship, Lürssen, and Oceanco continue to deliver yachts that push technological and aesthetic boundaries. Yet, Benetti’s strategy differs: it builds on proven successes while incrementally introducing fresh architectural ideas.
By focusing on human-centred design—open sightlines, multifunctional spaces, seamless transitions—Benetti positions itself not only as a builder of luxury objects but as a creator of new lifestyle frameworks. This approach resonates with a new generation of yacht owners who view their vessels as extensions of personal identity, not just floating palaces.
Sustainability Considerations
Though the launch centred on design, sustainability remains an unavoidable theme in yacht building. Steel hulls, while robust, come with a significant carbon footprint during construction. Benetti has signalled its commitment to integrating greener technologies, from hybrid propulsion systems to advanced energy management solutions. Future iterations of the B.Now and B.Loft lines are expected to incorporate these innovations as regulatory and consumer pressure intensifies.
According to industry analysts, clients increasingly demand yachts that not only reflect luxury but also minimise environmental impact. Benetti’s proven adaptability makes it likely the new models will evolve quickly to address these priorities.
Looking Ahead
With the B.Now 52M, B.Loft 58M, and the expanded Oasis Deck philosophy, Benetti demonstrates that steel yachts are far from static designs—they are canvases for continual reinvention. The company has balanced continuity with innovation, ensuring it can satisfy existing clients while attracting new ones.
By enriching its steel yacht family, Benetti is betting on a dual strategy: refining proven winners like the B.Now while exploring architectural boldness through projects like the B.Loft. This balance of tradition and innovation may be its greatest competitive advantage.
As the global yacht market rebounds, particularly in regions like the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and South Pacific, Benetti’s latest moves confirm its place at the centre of industry evolution. With more orders already lined up and a design language that blends openness, light, and fluidity, the shipyard’s steel legacy looks set not only to endure but to thrive in the decades ahead.
